Gosh darnit, I finally have full internet access and I’m going to use it!
Sorry I’ve been away so long. This may be a long update because I have had a weight loss adventure dipping as low as 290 and now currently at 293. There have been some high highs and some not so high lows so get ready kids and strap yourselves in. In fact, you may want to grab a snack…
Round and Round it goes…
So I’m at the point of my workout where I’m still inspired to work out but I want more and I want it NOW! My patience is waining though I know I’m doing well. I’ve lost six lbs since the end of January and 26 overall.
And here is some more information about why counting lbs sucks. Y’all know I do this the calorie counter thing and I really like it. But it’s a lot of work to really restrict your diet and when you do and work out 5/7 days of the week and see only two lbs lost it does take it’s toll. It’s weird because I’ve lost about 3 - 4 inches overall but that weight number is the one that sticks with me.
There’s more to this and I’ll expand more later, but for now know that you’ll get some funkiness added to your mood as you go on this weight journey. Just know to keep pushing forward and to not give up.

295 SUCKAS!!
So remember yesterday I was all “HOLY CRAP I GAINED A POUND? I SHOULD BE AT 297! GAH!” Well, the bloating/water weight thing made sense and I weighed myself this morning to find myself at a cool 295. I am officially done with daily weighing and will only stick to weekly and measurements.
That said, I would like to take a moment to say that it’s okay to indulge your crazy, okay? Ignoring it will just let it fester, but every now and again, it’s okay to be a little nuts.
Losing weight can be stressful, especially when you’re around only yourself and you don’t see the results right away. So when you gain that water weight and you freak out knowing GOOD AND WELL it’s water weight, it’s okay to weigh yourself maniacally until it’s gone. As long as you don’t quit and as long as it’s not an every time occurrence.
Make sure to make fun of yourself for it, preferrably with your work-out buddies. Laugh at how silly you were so next time you can just brush it off. Acknowledge your crazy, indulge it, and then release it. It makes the whole process a lot less stressful!

2At first I was about to take this article and throw it out the window, but now I see it’s just a bit misguided. Again, if losing weight were easy then no one would be fat. To really be disciplined you have to lose a bit of the pride that comes with being “grown” and regress back to child like antics such as treats to placate yourself. I understand the article’s intention, but I think it only applies to a very small cross section of people trying to meet their weight loss goals.

Aren’t they the absolute worst?! Bloating, water weight, fatique, stress, and mood swings?
And then when you least expect it and you’re jumping around in your Zumba class you have to run out to the bathroom? Terrible.
I don’t have much to add other than that. It’s just frustrating as heck but I try to know that it’s my period causing all of my mood shenanigans and keep going despite the cramping and gas.
Yes, my period is that terrible y’all.

Trimming the Circumference
This last week was really great for me diet wise. I burned 3340 calories in exercise and was 8000 calories under my budget.
So when I stepped on the scale imagine my surprise when I saw I gained a pound!
I wasn’t fully discouraged though. I knew I was on my period (why hello there 5lbs of water weight) but I was a bit miffed as I should have lost 4lbs overall.
I spoke with my class instructor and he reminded me that I’ve been working out like a fiend and probably replacing muscle with fat. Muscle is denser and heavier, but it helps burn fat even when resting. So I figure when my never ending period is over and some more of this fat gets replaced the pounds will also come off.
I’ll still be recording my weight but I’m focusing more on my circumference and inches lost.
